Travis Hamby is the superintendent of Trigg County Public Schools in Cadiz, Kentucky. He is passionate about creating deeper, personalized learning experiences for all students. Under his leadership, Trigg County Public School District has been recognized as a District of Innovation by the Kentucky State Board of Education. The ultimate goal of their transformational work is to authentically engage students in their learning experiences, inspire the natural curiosity and talents innate in each student, and to Empower the Next Generation! Their efforts are featured in the educational documentary, Beyond Measure.
Travis is living his lifelong dream of being an educator. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Master of Education in School Administration from Murray State University. In addition to his work as superintendent, he has served Kentucky students in a variety of roles over his 22 year career, including as a middle school math teacher, high school math teacher, assistant middle school principal, elementary school principal and an assistant superintendent. He is actively involved in both state and national groups promoting innovation in public education, including the University of Kentucky Next Generation Leadership Academy, National Center for Innovation in Education, and the CCSSO Innovation Lab Network.
