Jessica De Barros

Jessica de Barros is an experienced education professional dedicated to closing opportunity gaps. As Executive Director of the Road Map Region Race to the Top Grant for Puget Sound Educational Service District, she is responsible for implementing a $40 million federal grant for seven school districts serving 150,000 students in the South King County, Washington region. Previously, de Barros was Director of Impact for the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, where she designed and implemented a system to achieve aggressive goals across a turnaround network of 22 schools and 40 home office employees. Jessica also worked for Seattle Public Schools, where she implemented new performance management systems, and for the Seattle mayor’s office for education, where she developed and managed policy for the Families and Education Levy, a $117 million investment in preschool, after-school, middle school, dropout prevention and school-based health programs. In her volunteer time, de Barros serves on the Board of Directors for Excel Public Charter School in Kent, Washington. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from American University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington.
